Nova Kids' Session

The Nova Irish Session is no longer running a session specifically for kids.  However, kids are always welcome at our regular Saturday session, and the Tune Teaching sessions are an excellent way to build repetoire.

Repertoire

We have a tune book for the session which you can download and print here.  We'll also have copies available at the session.  Kids are welcome to play any Irish tunes, but if you learn the tunes in the tune book, there's a better chance that others will be able to play along.  Kids are free to use the sheet music during the session, but we encourage everyone to play and learn tunes by ear.    We open most sessions with "Egan's Polka", so that's a good tune to learn first.  These are the tunes currently in the tune book:

The violin versions of these tunes are provided by Siamsa with permission.  They may not correspond exactly to the versions of the tunes that we play in the session, but they should work fine with the versions we play.
